Before he stunned contestants with mystery ingredients as host of Food Network’s Chopped, and before he served as food and wine expert on Bravo’s Queer Eye and before he was named one of “The Best 75 People in the World” by Esquire, Ted Allen started out as a humble food critic for a chain of community weekly newspapers in Chicago. And when he’s not out being a rock star food personality, Allen plays the role of home cook – proof is in his mouth-watering mobile uploads on Facebook. His latest enterprise with Robert Mondavi wines brings him to Orlando for a wine dinner at Winter Park’s Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. (Allen also hosts a private lunch today at Whole Foods’ Turkey Lake location.) After all, Allen’s a familiar face; he’s just a guy who loves a good meal and a glass of wine – or two. – Aimee Vitek
