Nobody has ever said there aren’t enough unusual places to have dinner in Central Florida. Between the theaters and the rain forests and the ’50s diners, sometimes one longs for a simple dinner at home. What about someone else’s home? And what if that home is a museum?
Dinner at the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden (633 Osceola Ave., Winter Park) is a quiet little dining secret. The former home of the world-famous artist has been opening its doors to a select few since last February, and although the 24 seats at the next meal on Dec. 1 are probably already filled, now is a good time to book ahead for the April to-do.
Appetizers in the sculpture garden overlooking Lake Maitland and a Tuscan dinner to a string quartet in the Tapestry Room sounds a lot classier than a burger and Mouse ears. Cost is $75 per person. Contact Duggan Peak at 407-647-0283.
