Nontraditional pizza house concept Perla’s Pizza is now back in business at its new Winter Park location.

Perla’s Pizza, previously operating in Ivanhoe Village under chef Michael Collantes before dissolving just months after it opened in 2021, is now alive again at 959 W. Fairbanks Ave., the previous site of the Winter Park Collective.

This not-so-new concept was known for its slew of unconventional toppings and flavor combinations.

Perla’s website still says, “menu dropping soon,” but Collantes told Orlando Weekly in June 2024 that Perla’s flavors are likely to upset a few pizza traditionalists. Again.

“All I can say is it’s Florida Man pizza,” said Collantes. “We’re using pizza as a vessel to create something tasty and nontraditional. Really, it’s just pizza we like to eat. And, yes, bananas will make it onto our pizza.”

The pizzeria also serves ambient vibes as well as pies, with a live vinyl record DJ and specialty cocktails, plus non-alcoholic mocktail concoctions.

Perla’s is now operating in soft-open mode Wednesday through Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
