The popular brewery announced on social media Tuesday that after five years in business, the location’s last day of operation will be Friday, Feb. 28.
The announcement explained that lasting economic impacts from the pandemic and rising costs have made it difficult for the brewery to continue business. Oviedo Brewing Co. described the effort to push through these challenges as “mentally draining.”
“We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our loyal members, guests, and friends who have supported us throughout this journey. Your love for craft beer and community has meant the world to us,” Oviedo Brewing wrote in their Facebook post.
Oviedo Brewing Co. invites community members to come out for a final toast before Friday’s closure.
The 8,000-square-foot tap room, brewhouse and kitchen is Oviedo’s only brewery. The family-friendly watering hole is full-service with a menu of beers brewed in-house, pizza, sandwiches, wings and salads. There are also special menus for the kiddos and the canines.
Oviedo Brewing Co. joins a seemingly never-ending slate of small businesses to announce closures recently, including the Hammered Lamb and Jack & Honey’s. In response to recent shutdowns, Orlando lawmakers proposed last week a state program intended to help small businesses harmed by street construction.
