Part of the building was destroyed just before 5 a.m. Sunday. The Orange County Fire Department responded to the fire quickly and before it could reach the entire building, according to a message shared by the restaurant on social media.
The restaurant says no one was injured. The cause of the fire is unknown.
“We are devastated and working on plans for our comeback,” reads part of a message shared on the restaurant’s social media.
Owner Ryan Davis told WESH-2 he plans to work to rebuild the restaurant, which has been serving the Edgewood area since 1972.
The Waterfront has launched a GoFundMe to help raise funds to support servers, bartenders and kitchen staff while recovery efforts begin. As of early Monday afternoon, the page has raised nearly $5,000 of the $15,000 goal.
