This latest hot dog hub will open at 315 North Alafaya Trail at Waterford Lakes Town Center Thursday.
The 7,800-square-foot restaurant will feature seating for nearly 200 guests, an outdoor patio, a grab-and-go station and double drive-thru lanes. All of the Portillo’s menu staples — including crinkle-cut fries, char-grilled burgers and chocolate cake — will be offered.
Thursday’s opening marks the seventh Portillo’s location to open in the Sunshine State; St. Petersburg, Tampa, Brandon, Clermont, Kissimmee and Orlando’s Palm Parkway are already home to Portillo’s.
To mark the new store’s opening, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m. Then at 10 a.m., the doors open and folks are welcome to eat hot dogs for breakfast. (As one does.)
During the ceremony, Portillo’s will present Orange County Public School Foundation, its charity partner, with a check.
