Eola General is finally open in the former Handy Pantry building

Eola General, the new store replacing the shuttered Handy Pantry convenience store in Lake Eola Heights, is finally open.

The spot at 522 E. Amelia St. was packed Sunday before Eola General officially opens on Wednesday because of a wine tasting event.

The new store plans to soft open on March 6. The soft opening hours will be Wednesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Eola General plans to remain a traditional neighborhood convenience store with some modern upgrades like a curated selection of beer and wine, new menu and vegan options.
