Domu ramen empire extends east to Waterford Lakes

Domu, the uber-popular ramen joint based at East End Market, announced today they will open a quick-serve concept called Domu Chibi Ramen in the Waterford Lakes Town Center.

“Chibi” means “little,” and while the menu will not be as large as the flagship Domu, they promise Chibi “will still offer a variety of ramen options including a tonkotsu, shio, shoyu, and miso. Along with that, there will a few options for sides such as gyoza, edamame, chicken karaage, and bravas fries (a play on our fingerling bravas at DOMU).”

That core menu of ramens will still offer house-made broths and noodles, but flatware and serveware will be disposable, ordering will be done by patrons at a kiosk, and all seating will be “bar/ledge-style.”

We reported last June that Domu would open a Jacksonville location in 2018, and in January that owner Sonny Nguyen would open an izakaya concept on Mills called Tori Tori Pub this summer.
