Nook on Robinson

This has been a particularly bad year for bars and venues that weren’t averse to taking chances with their event calendars. First we lost Uncle Lou’s, and now Milk District oddball the Nook on Robinson. The cozy space run more than capably by Matt Duke and Mary McGinn (answering IRL the question posed by Cheers: How do two bartenders run an entire bar?) has been a haven for both craft-beer aficionados and weird-music enthusiasts (and clown lovers!). No mean feat.

Now they’re closing on Halloween night and, fittingly for a space that has never shied away from a good conceptual soiree, with a funeral-themed party. There will be a photo booth, and the back patio will be open like the old days (the pre-paid-parking lot days!). Come raise a glass to two folks who did it their way until the very end.

5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, The Nook on Robinson, 2432 E. Robinson St., facebook.com/thenookonrobinson, free.
