Imagine pulling a 60-ton airplane down the runway of Orlando International Airport. On Saturday, Nov. 2, Special Olympics Florida is hosting a plane pull competition where qualifying teams have the chance to test their strength and make a donation to the cause.

Each team is made up of 15 participants and all qualifying teams must raise a minimum of $1,500 to participate. Their fundraising efforts will be donated towards providing year-round training and athletic competitions to the 52,000 athletes of Special Olympics Florida.

So far, the following six teams have qualified for the event: C&S companies, Cixon Earharts, Radixx Ineternational, We Can Take the Pressure, CrossFit Winter Garden WolfPack, and HICV Resort Ops Rickenbackers.

Once the horn blows, two teams race to pull a United Airlines 737 aircraft by rope. Whichever team moves the plane 15 feet the fastest, wins.

Beside pulling a plane, there will also be a KidZone, vendors, and plenty of food trucks. They’ll also have a Law Enforcement display with SWAT cars, motorcycles, booths and command centers ready for photo ops.
