It’s been a busy offseason for the Orlando Predators – one abuzz with all sorts of rousing news. Not only does the team have new leadership in head coach Doug Plank and star quarterback Kyle Rowley, but later this year, the City Beautiful will graciously host Arena Bowl XXVI (the Arena Football League’s version of the Super Bowl) at Amway Center on Aug. 17. At one point, we even heard talks were in the works about New York Jets back-up quarterback Tim Tebow joining the team, but that never panned out. And then the team piled on some added pressure for this season by instating a “Predators Performance Guarantee,” in which they promised a 10-game-or-more winning season or season ticket holders get their money back. We can only assume, especially after their season-starting loss against New Orleans VooDoo, the Preds will take it one game at a time. Tonight’s home opener against the Soul offers a friendly welcome back before they face the Tampa Bay Storm in the highly revered “War on I-4” at Amway on April 20. – Aimee Vitek
