Halloween at Orlando Museum of Art: Shadows in the Galleries

Subtitled “A Night of Southern Gothic & Hauntings,” this particular night at the museum — Orlando Museum of Art, to be exact — promises an evening of frights rather than whimsical paintings and statues come to life. (Adults only, after all. Sorry, kids!)

The late-evening Devil’s Night event is a first for OMA and they’re going all out with a costume contest, themed drinks, light bites, a DJ (and attendant dancing) and a photobooth. And Phantasmagoria, fresh off a run of Frankenstein performances, will be there to ply their fell trade in the galleries, bringing new and chilling meaning to the word “immersive.” Also expect “mysterious characters and unexpected surprises.” Promise?

6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, Orlando Museum of Art, 2416 N. Mills Ave., omart.org, $75-$130.
