One of the privileges that’s come with covering Orlando’s arts scene for so long has been watching new performers emerge and evolve over the years. A brief decade ago, Corsets & Cuties debuted on the city’s burgeoning burlesque scene, and soon grew into one of the area’s most popular troupes under the wing of writer-director Jaimz Dillman. Choosing to celebrate their 10th anniversary by hanging up their garters at the top of their game, the Cuties are bowing out with a final variety cabaret combining decadent dancing, salacious songs and comedic cheesecake.

Following a rainbow-draped ensemble opener set to George Michael’s “Freedom,” Corsets & Cuties: Fin features a series of solo stripteases from fan favorites like Barbi Rhinestone (channeling Frankenstein’s Bride) and Miss Daddea, who memorably humps a humongous hot dog. You’ll also enjoy a BDSM ballad sung by Jax N. Augh, as well as eye-catchingly acrobatic routines featuring Teddy and Libra Moon, with touching farewell video messages between each number. But the standout segment is clearly Lady Jaimz’s elegiac backstage vignette, which is far more contemplative and emotionally affecting than any onstage undressing I’ve ever seen.

More than mere tatas on display, the Cuties have always been about joyful celebration of self-acceptance, specializing in healthy self-deprecation and diverse representation across all sexualities and sizes. After more than 100 shows, Orlando’s burlesque fans will certainly miss Corsets & Cuties, so don’t skip their final sensual soiree. And hopefully Jaimz and her progeny will stick around to help nurture the next generation of Orlando’s nekkid artists.
