Some dogs hop on three legs, or wear eyepatches like pirates, or can’t hear a damn thing you say but loyally lip-read your commands. Lovey Loaves is the Orlando sanctuary devoted to saving, rehabbing and helping find homes for animals who’ve had a tough time of it, but still have love to give. Arts for Carts is their annual fundraiser, and before you start thinking this is some drab do-gooder lentilfest, allow us to point out that this party looks like a blast. It’s a Roaring ’20s theme, so dress up and be prepared to do the Charleston – and to take your turn in the “slo-mo booth” for a gorgeous, unique video – plus the usual: hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a live DJ and a silent auction of art and jewelry. It might be nice in the midst of this heavy political climate to have some fun and spend some money that you know is going to a good cause, mightn’t it?

7:30-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 | Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, 2101 N. Epcot Resorts Blvd., Lake Buena Vista | 407-494-2707 | loveyloaves.org | $55 [location-1]
