New year, same parks — with a few brief pauses. As Universal Orlando gears up for another busy year, several fan-favorite attractions and dining spots will temporarily close throughout 2026 for routine refurbishments, the park says. If you’re planning a trip (or just like to stay in the know), here’s what to expect.

Jurassic Park River Adventure
The classic water ride at Islands of Adventure will be closed from Jan. 5 to Nov. 19, 2026. The lengthy closure is due to an extended renovation, likely focused on maintenance and overall upkeep.

Hogwarts Express
The train connecting Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure will be unavailable Feb. 9 to 23. During the closure, guests won’t be able to park-hop between the two parks via the Express, though both Wizarding World lands will remain open. Park-goers will just have to walk the old-fashioned way.

Revenge of the Mummy
The indoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida will close briefly from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2 for a bit of a revamp.

Finnegan’s Bar & Grill
The popular Irish pub inside Universal Studios Florida is scheduled to close Jan. 12, with reopening planned for winter 2026. The extended closure points to a more extensive renovation.

Fyre Drill
The interactive water attraction at Epic Universe will be closed Feb. 1 to 7, 2026 for routine maintenance.

Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides

Both Maku of Maku Puihi and Puihi of Maku Puihi will be closed from Jan. 5 to Feb. 12 at Volcano Bay. These seasonal closures are common for Volcano Bay attractions during cooler months.

Theme park lovers, consider this your friendly heads-up.
