It's a tough day at the Happiest Place on Earth. This week Disney announced more than 145 employees from its Walt Disney Parks & Resorts department have been laid off.

Those affected work in human resources, finance, marketing, sales, and operations. As such, Disney does not expect the move will impact visitor experiences, reports The Orlando Sentinel.

The notifications occured on Nov. 16, and are reportedly part of a larger restructuring effort. In a prepared statement to Orlando Business Journal, Disney said "Walt Disney Parks & Resorts' segment is restructuring several back-of-house operations to align with future needs."

The company also emphasized it would help those affected find new employment, either within Disney or elsewhere.

More than 145,000 are employed worldwide by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, across 12 theme parks and 52 resorts. In Orlando, Walt Disney World employed approximately 74,000 people in 2016, according to a statement released by Disney
