Posted By on Tue, Apr 16, 2019 at 10:26 AM

Tigris, Busch Gardens' latest triple-launch steel coaster, soft opens today at the Tampa theme park.

The new thrill ride, billed as Florida's tallest launch coaster, officially opens this Friday, April 19, but today and tomorrow passholders can get a special Quick Queue access to the coaster, announced the theme park.

Now the ninth roller coaster at Busch Gardens, Tigris is designed to "mimic the awe-inspiring agility of the world's largest and most powerful cat – the tiger," topping out at 1,800 feet and reaching speeds of more than 60 mph.

Busch Gardens also recently announced that a new, yet-to-be-named thrill ride will be coming to the Gwazi area of the park in 2020.
