A Halo theme park is coming to Orlando this summer

A 300,000-square-foot Halo theme park is coming to Orlando this July.

"Halo: Outpost Discovery," an interactive tour centered on the Halo video game universe, will hit the Orange County Convention Center July 5 through 7.

The weekend-long event is essentially a giant festival for Halo fans. Developed by Microsoft's 343 and Herschend Live, the traveling theme park will include virtual reality experiences, escape rooms, life-sized vehicles and a Halo ring, too.

The traveling theme park will have a total of 15 different stations, including a cosplay space, a "combat deck," and a target range with UNSC and Covenant-themed blasters.

For those of you unfamiliar with the popular video game Halo, it was first released by Bungie back in 2001, and allows gamers to play as the cybernetically enhanced Master Chief to battle aliens, play multiplayer death matches, and essentially create bitter divides among college roommates.

The franchise has had numerous sequels and spin-offs, the most recent being the release of Halo: Fireteam Raven, an arcade game that came to places like Dave & Busters.

Tickets are on sale now and start at $55. There's also a VIP option that gives guests early access and "free" gifts.
