Announced last week by USA Track and Field, the city of Orlando has entered bids to host the 2020 Olympic Trials Marathon.

Orlando joins cities like Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; and Chattanooga, Tennessee in declaring their intent.

“To have four new bidders for the Olympic Trials Marathon speaks to the attractiveness of the property and the support for our increasingly successful American marathon corps,” Max Siegel, CEO of USATF, says in a press release.

The final bid deadline for the Trials is due March 19. A USATF site selection committee, made up of the chairs of the USATF Women’s and Men’s Long Distance Running Committees, a representative of the USATF Athletes Advisory Committee, USATF technical director and National Office staff, is tasked with reviewing and assessing all bids.

USATF Board of Directors will narrow the process down to their final selection this spring, although it will be subject to approval by the United States Olympics Committee.
