The Coldharts bring Fringe favorite 'Edgar Allan' to the Timucua stage for one night only

Brooklyn-based performers Katie Hartman and Nick Ryan – better known as the Coldharts – blew Orlando Fringe audiences away last spring with their perverse punk-rock opera The Unrepentant Necrophile, and this week they bring their acclaimed one-woman play, The Legend of White Creek, to the Winter Mini-Fringe. But if you want to know why Orlando originally embraced the duo, you don’t want to miss their reprise of Edgar Allan, which won the Best Show Critics’ Choice award at the 2016 festival. This macabre mini-musical imagines a prepubescent Poe pitted against his boarding-school rival in a deadly battle of wits, with an ironic ending worthy of The Cask of Amontillado. Our reviewer called Hartman’s performance “haunting,” and the intimate Timucua stage should be an ideal setting to see this “quirky, creepy charmer.”
