A pair of endangered Sumatran tiger cubs were recently born at Disney's Animal Kingdom, a first in the park's history.

Disney released a statement Wednesday that the cubs are bonding well with their mother, Sohni, and would be on display at Maharajah Jungle Trek in the next several months.

According to the World Wildlife Fund, fewer than 400 Sumatran tigers exist, making them the smallest surviving subspecies of tigers. Sumatran tigers are only found on Sumatra, a small Indonesian island.

In partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Disney Conservation Fund supports the Reverse the Decline Initiative, which aims to increase the Sumatran tiger population by 25 percent in the next decade.

Earlier this month Disney reported the DCF has spent nearly $2.5 million on protecting tigers and their habitats.
