The longtime host of WTKS 104.1-FM's "The Philips File" announced yesterday that he will be retiring in January 2018. "I'm retiring. I'm not retiring from life, I'm just retiring from this business," he told listeners during his broadcast on Tuesday, June 20.

"The Philips File" has been a staple of the area's radio programming for 30 years, covering everything from local and national politics and entertainment news, to ways to induce labor in overdue pregnancies, to what's the best way to pay for books. No announcement has been made about who will be replacing Philips in the timeslot.

"The Philips File" airs every weekday from 3-7 p.m. on 104.1-FM. You can listen to the announcement on the show's website here.
