At this point, it's safe to say that the Ocala cobra will never be found.

It's been more than a week since a deadly yellow monocled cobra escaped its cage in Ocala, Florida, and now the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the search has been suspended, reports WESH.

The 2-foot-long snake has been missing since Monday, March 13, when it got out of its cage near the 900 block of Northeast Fifth Street in Ocala.

According to the Ocala Star Banner, the snake escaped after it jumped at the owner's apprentice, who was checking to see if it was still in the enclosure.

The FWC says they believe the snake is probably sill in the house.

Wherever it is, wherever it goes, travel well, Ocala cobra.
