Florida Gov. Rick Scott hasn't said the words 'gay' or 'LGBT' once since the Orlando mass shooting

After 49 people were shot by a gunman in an Orlando gay nightclub, during Pride Month, Gov. Rick Scott still hasn't uttered the words "gay" or "LGBT."
This massive omission of the gay community has been most evident on both his Twitter and his many television appearances.

As you can see in the video above, this severe lack of acknowledgement was most apparent during an interview Sunday afternoon on CNN.

As first pointed out by Raw Story, host Jake Tapper spoke about how the LGBT community appeared "to have been directly targeted in this attack.” However, Scott spent the next few minutes trying his best to not say the words "gay" or LGBT."

Everyone else doesn't seem to have a problem calling this tragic event what it really is.

"This is without a doubt an act of terror directed at the LGBT community," said former Orlando Police Chief Val Demings in an interview with MSNBC.

In an address to the nation on Sunday, President Obama gave his sympathy to the gay community:
"This is an especially heartbreaking day for all our friends — our fellow Americans — who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. The shooter targeted a nightclub where people came together to be with friends, to dance and to sing, and to live. The place where they were attacked is more than a nightclub — it is a place of solidarity and empowerment where people have come together to raise awareness, to speak their minds, and to advocate for their civil rights."
