The City Beautiful in springtime can be an amazing sight to behold, but for those of us with allergies, this time of year is literally a living hell. As it turns out, Orlando is actually the worst place in the entire country right now for people with sensitive immune systems.

According to Florida Hospital, Orlando is the city in the country with the highest pollen levels, reports WKMG ClickOrlando

A scale of 0-12 is used to measure pollen levels, with 12 being the worst, and so far this year, Orlando ranks in the 10-11 range.

Officials say the reason the pollen is so bad this year is because the mild winter season we had has caused allergens to stay "alive" in the air longer.

So far, oak trees are the biggest perpetrators polluting our air with their poison powder, but next month ragweed is expected to cause some problems.

Local doctors advise allergy sufferers to wash their hair before bed and to clean their carpets regularly to keep pollen levels low inside the home. They also advise seeing a doctor if you're taking over-the-counter allergy medication long term, as some aren't meant for extended use.
