Angie Nixon, the progressive Democratic candidate for one of Florida’s U.S. Senate seats, is getting a boost from Orlando musicians and comedians next week at Will’s Pub.

The show features a who’s who of community-minded musicians and comedians, with all proceeds going to Angie Nixon’s campaign. Additionally, Raise Our Voices will be on hand to assist with voter registration.

Jacksonville Democrat Nixon, who has been endorsed by both Orlando’s Rep. Maxwell Frost and mayoral candidate Dr. Anna V. Eskamani, is running to unseat Republican Ashley Moody in November.

The roster of comedians includes Aimee LeCours and friends, Simon Nash and Lee Cohen, with hosting and a few mordant chuckles coming from Larry Fulford. Yes, the same Larry Fulford who did the “Anything but ICE” job fair-as-protest action earlier this year. Music will be performed loudly and angrily by Curtains, M.A.C.E. and David Zim.

The Angie for Florida: Concert & Community fundraiser happens Wednesday, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. at Will’s Pub. The door price is $15 (or pay more, if you prefer!), and 100 percent of all money raised at the door goes to Angie Nixon’s run to flip a U.S. Senate seat.
