The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens has launched a new behind-the-scenes experience that gives visitors a closer look at animal care, conservation efforts and daily zoo operations.
Guests can now experience Zoo Insider Tours, guided walks through the park led by zoo staff and volunteers. The tours run Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. and last about an hour.
Unlike traditional guided tours, the Zoo Insider Tours are unscripted and interactive, with small groups of up to 10 guests. Zoo officials say the format allows visitors to ask questions, spark conversations and explore topics that are not typically covered during a standard visit.
The tours are designed for all ages and focus on a range of subjects, including animal care, conservation initiatives, zoo operations and animal behavior. Because the tours are customized to each group, no two experiences are the same, according to the zoo.
