Chef Ashley Nickell of Funky Monkey Wine Bar & Bistro was a contestant in Season 15 of “Hell’s Kitchen,” which premieres 9 p.m. tonight on Fox. In the way of all reality TV, she’ll have to keep her mouth shut to avoid handing out spoilers as the rest of us watch week to week to see if she has what it takes to be Head Chef at BLT Steak at Bally’s Las Vegas. While in Las Vegas, the competitors face many different challenges, such as rubber duck hunting, preparing meals for celebrities such as Kris Jenner and avoiding being called a donkey by Gordon Ramsay.

On the upside, if Nickell can handle Ramsay’s high-strung environment, then a sushi class with a bunch of kids should be a cakewalk.

Nickell returns to her roots at Funky Monkey Bistro & Bar next month to teach children aged 6-11 the art of sushi rolling on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 2:20 p.m.-3:30 p.m. With admission a reasonable $25 and only 22 spots available, reservations are likely to go fast – they can be made by calling 407-418-9463.
