Jeff Tweedy, the chief writer and vocalist of Wilco, launched his 2019 tour in Iowa about a week ago to support his new album, Warm. His alt-country roots in the Americana ’90s shine throughout his newest and, technically, debut solo album. The songs are rife with dizzying rhythmic and bluesy riffs, alternating with very soft twangs, hinting at the ever-present Sad Cowboy themes of loss and resignation, while paying homage to the softer, warmer elements found in the dynamic and experimental Sukierae album recorded with his son Spencer in 2014. As he gallivants through our nation of shambles and sorrows, you can pay him a visit during his stop in Orlando on St. Patrick’s Day.
