The 18-and-up event features two rounds of trivia with a $10 buy-in and teams of four, as well as karaoke with DJ Wesley Pipes. Orlando Roller Derby league members will be displaying some of their memorabilia for purchase, with all proceeds going toward ORD’s home and travel team expenses for the upcoming season.
ORD currently has six full teams: the Ozone Slayers, Sun Blockers, Sol Crushers, Heatwave Hellcats, Manatee Mayhem and Snowbird Bombers. The league’s home games are hosted at the Barnett Park Gym and their current season has monthly games until it ends in October.
Generally speaking, ORD may be the only place you get to see a player named Phelony Phatbottom (yes, she is a real player) win MVP Blocker several games in a row — so if you want a chance to snag a shirt, sing some tunes and support the league, you’d better roll through the market.
