At the end of 2012, we reported on Full Sail University’s Song Reader project, including a special arrangement from local composer Chris Belt, who rather than going the obvious piano route to interpret the song “The Last Polka,” brought in strings and woodwinds to push the song further and, as he put it, really “find the polka.” Well, he must have stumbled upon something special along the way, because now his rendition is being adapted for the Seattle Rock Orchestra, which will perform his arrangement along with others at a concert on Jan. 12.
