With contents that might seem more appropriate in an outpost of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles displays items such as sculptures carved out of a single human hair and oil portraits of the dogs that were part of the Soviet space program. While many of the exhibits challenge credulity ‘ bats that can fly through solid objects, foot-long horns that grew from human heads ‘ Leonard Feinstein’s half-hour documentary from 2004 casts a sensitive eye on both the museum and its curator. The result is a portrait of a place where myths and facts collide with obsessions and, like author Lawrence Weschler says, ‘it turns out that everything at this place is true â?¦ kinda.â?�
