Eric B. & Rakim’s “Paid in Full” gets an affectionate 20th-anniversary nod on the Herbaliser’s FabricLive offering, in a summer scorcher track list that favors clamorous Brit hip-hop and U.S. MCs rather than comedown beats. Other than a hyped snippet of “Gadget Funk,” the smoky, jazz-lounge workouts that characterized a lot of The Herbaliser’s Take London last year have no place on the duo’s picks for FabricLive 26. The mix’s relatively hostile party vibe ensures a sticky morning after, as beers will be spilled or thrown during the Farfisa-spiked ragga of the Million Dan sendoff, an RJD2/Dynamic Syncopation mashup that fits real snug-like. There’s even a Jackson 5 track. Nottingham, England’s, Cappo (an Herbaliser fave), rides hard, stinging breaks on a surprisingly three-year-old “I.D.S.T.,” while the tinty licks of “It’s Great To Be Here” from the Jackson boys also guarantee splintered pint glasses. The furniture will be in disrepair, man.
