It’s been such a dizzyingly successful year or so for local indie trio the Pauses (a stunning debut album, stellar reviews, a track on Rock Band, that “Interact-O-Vision” thingy) that their North American fall tour feels more like a hard-earned victory lap. The heroes parade kicks off this week with a handful of shared bills with their New Granada compatriots Great Deceivers, with whom they’re releasing a limited-edition, four-song split 12-inch. Joining them will be Out Go the Lights and, of particular interest, St. Petersburg’s Alexander & the Grapes, whose new album, Hemispheres, we called “as joyful and welcoming as it is smart and self-aware.” – Justin Strout
