Venezuelan rockers Caramelos de Cianuro surfaced with a bang in the early 1990s, creating an urgent sound influenced as much by the alternative rock that was all the rage as punk, the folk styles of their homeland and an enviable knack for pop hooks.

The band routinely pumped out hit records and singles while expanding their already eclectic catalog. Case in point: 2015 Latin Grammy-nominated release 8, which saw the band dabbling in sleek new wave and Interpol-esque theatrics. The quartet lineup fractured in 2018 and now the band soldier on as a duo of founding members Asier and Pável.

Latest album Veneno y Fuego is a sprawling rocker and should sound great being bashed out by these lifers.
