‘Cowboy Bebop’ Live tours into Orlando’s Hard Rock Live mixing anime and big-band vamps

Stylish 1990s anime Cowboy Bebop leaps into the three-dimensional realm this weekend with a live show courtesy of the Bebop Bounty Big Band — who have deep local connections.

Cowboy Bebop Live is a touring multimedia pairing of pivotal scenes from the noir-ish anime featuring Spike Spiegel, with the jazzy soundtrack blasted live by the Big Band.

This 14-piece jazz ensemble is made up of members of Orlando outfits like Jazz Orchestra at Dr. Phillips Center, Orlando Jazz Orchestra and Disney’s Main Street Philharmonic — who bring the signature jazzy sounds of this anime to life while scenes from the adventures of Spike Spiegel play onscreen.

Cowboy Bebop Live happens at the Hard Rock Live on Saturday, March 22, at 8 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
