On that day, the Town Center, the last of the four major themed districts and the only one to be fully designed specifically for Disney Springs, will open. This brand new section of Disney Springs will feature the majority of the retailers at the shopping complex.
While the former Downtown Disney districts have each seen new additions and new theming the Town Center is located in the former Pleasure Island parking lot meaning that this area is entirely new. Every single building and walkway within the Town Center has been designed specifically with the overall theming of Disney Springs in mind.
The Landing area (the area formerly known as Pleasure Island) includes the majority of the new dining options coming to Disney Springs but Town Center will include a few unique new dining options. D-Luxe Burger
, Disney’s own attempt at the gourmet burger craze, will open in a space overlooking the ‘springs.’
Next door to D-Luxe will be the new Art Smith restaurant
dedicated to Florida’s rich culinary history. Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine will be a celebration of Florida’s tropical southern fusion while keeping its focus on the current day. Smith has said that Homecoming will be vegan-friendly.
The Town Center will also house over 35 new retailers including ALEX AND ANI, JOHNNY WAS, Free People, UNIQLO, and Na Hoku. A large covered arcade will give the area a mall-like feel while also providing a new area for guests to enjoy during our regular rain storms.
Coca-Cola will have a store in the Town Center. Originally rumored to be a World of Coke attraction
the store will feature a small meet-and-greet, photo ops and a rooftop tasting bar.
The Coke store will open “this summer.” Disney has confirmed that while the Town Center will be opening on May 15 some stores will be opening later with the “majority” opening by July 1.
The second parking garage is expected to open by July as well. The new bus parking area near the Town Center should open around the same time.
The transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs will see its biggest step forward yet on May 15.
