Willie's Pinchos opens on Goldenrod, Italio and the Egg & I close, plus more in local foodie news 

Le Dîner en Blanc, the chichi all-white (dress, that is), invite-only outdoor dinner party, comes to Orlando this fall for the very first time. The date is TBD and the venue won't be announced until hours before the event. Register at, though that won't necessarily guarantee you entry. The trick? Get to know the organizers (JAGA Productions) and their network of friends.


Assuming they pass inspection, Jason Schofield's Maddey's Craft & Cru inside the Bumby Arcade has its soft opening May 30 ... On the heels of opening Canvas in Lake Nona, Tavistock Restaurant Collection will open a gastropub this fall in the Lake Nona Town Center. The restaurant promises "local, seasonal, fresh ingredients" as well as a "craft cocktails and micro-brews" ... Danketsu, an Asian fusion restaurant serving sushi, Korean barbecue and Chinese hot pot, has opened on Lake Underhill Road near Rouse Road ... Popular food truck Willie's Pinchos has opened a brick-and-mortar Puerto Rican eatery on Goldenrod Road just north of Colonial Drive.


Italio, the fast-casual "modern Italian kitchen," has closed. A sign on the window says simply "New concept coming soon" ... Less-than-satisfactory breakfast joint The Egg & I has closed.


He cooked at the Beard House in December; now Lonny Huot, executive chef of Nine18 at the Villas of Grand Cypress, is introducing a new dinner menu June 1. Grilled baby octopus salad, farmed striped bass and bronzed diver scallops are a few of the offerings ... Chef Lula Martín del Campo, one of Mexico's most celebrated chefs, pairs up with Casa Dragones Joven Tequila for what promises to be a memorable tequila dinner at Plancha at the Four Seasons. The five-course dinner is Saturday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $145 ... May 28 also happens to be National Brisket Day, and 4 Rivers Smokehouse in Winter Park is throwing a Red, White and Brisket Party. The star of the show? A chili-cheese burger made with an 18-hour smoked Angus brisket ... Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux hosts Republic Wines for a four-course Italian wine dinner Saturday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $60; RSVP at 407-427-1440 ... The Dinner Party Project hosts its first singles event 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Celebration Gardens in Winter Park. Cost for the Single, Mingle & Mix soiree is $60.
