TSA officials posted photos of a raw poultry sealed in plastic to Twitter. A rolled up object was stuck into the body cavity of the bird. Upon unrolling it, agents found a handgun. They shared the photos along with proper instructions on how to travel with ammunition and firearms.
“There’s a personal fowl here. Our officers @FLLFlyer made this very raw find. We hate to break it to you but stuffing a firearm in your holiday bird for travel is just a baste of time,” they wrote.
It is unknown if the gun owner is facing charges but they will be out of cluck as the TSA agency could impose civil penalties exceeding $10,000. While carrying raw poultry is permitted on the flights, guns must be checked and declared at the ticket counter.
