Tip Jar: Updates on Broken Strings Brewery, American Gymkhana and more

Broken Strings Brewery won't be opening in Ivanhoe Village after all. According to a post on Broken Strings' Facebook page, the landlord of the former ROH Construction space on Virginia Drive didn't make the necessary building improvements on time, and so they had to pull out. They still hope to find a location in the neighborhood – how about the recently vacated Elliott's Public House space?

Details are still being hammered out, but look for a singular farm-to-table event at American Gymkhana featuring chefs Hari Pulapaka (Cress) and Aarthi Sampath (American Gymkhana) in late February. The event will likely feature wine and cocktail pairings courtesy of Jenneffer Pulapaka and award-winning mixologist Hemant Pathak.

Cricketers Arms Pub on Sand Lake Road is closing to make room for a new whiskey bar, appropriately named "The Whiskey." The new bar will have more than 300 whiskeys on hand.

The 2015 edition of the Walt Disney World Food & Wine Classic goes Oct. 30-31 ... At the Four Seasons Resort, Capa hosts a four-course dinner with wine pairings from Cakebread Cellars, 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22. Brace yourself – it's $265 per person ... At $55, the second annual Cigar City beer dinner at B&B Junction (6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26) is considerably more affordable.

Segafredo Zanetti Café in Mills Park has opened ... Graffiti Junktion will open in the former Memories of India space in Bayhill Plaza; in the same plaza, Fresco Cucina Italiana has moved to the other side of the parking lot next to Gold's Gym ... Graffiti Junktion also plans on opening in the former Café Red space on Church Street ... Mellow Mushroom will take over the old Big Boy space on Rinehart Road in Sanford. Now closed: Beer & Burger Joint near UCF, which replaced Culpepper's, and California Burrito Express on Colonial Drive.
