Located at 239 E Copeland Dr., the 4,768-square-feet neoclassical revival-style estate features 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, a deck and gazebo on Lake Copeland, three fireplaces, a spiral staircase, and a lush backyard.
The home was built in 1925, and was the most expensive home in the area at the time.
Sligh made his wealth at the turn of the century selling citrus, and later tomatoes, and shipping the down the St. Johns River. The Ocala native also spent six years on the Orlando County Board of Commissioners and is currently buried at Greenwood Cemetery. Sligh also has a boulevard named after him in downtown Orlando, as well as an avenue in Tampa.
