Orlando Restaurant Week
Thursday, April 29, through May 6

Right on the cusp of sultry summer weather, Orlando Weekly's Orlando Restaurant Week offers hot dining for cool prices. Emerging along with the burgeoning bounty of fresh produce are new dishes (and old favorites) to tempt diners out of the house and into more than 40 participating restaurants. For a full week, each restaurant serves a special three-course, fixed-price menu; simply ask for the Restaurant Week menu.
The fourth annual edition of the popular foodievent offers chefs a chance to experiment with new directions, to introduce themselves to the city or to welcome back old friends. In the case of K Restaurant, diners will get to see how the Fonzo brothers have merged K Winebar and Nonna Trattoria into one entity, while enjoying a Southern-inflected plate of barbecue-rubbed pork with cheese grits or a summery local mahi-mahi with fresh-from-the-garden succotash (along with some serious starters and a killer banana bread pudding for dessert). Newcomers Crave throw out five different starters and five different mains to choose from, all reflecting their "fresh, vibrant, American" cuisine (and topped with a sybaritic blondie sundae). South Orlando mainstay Café Italiano presents three courses of Italian-American classics like fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, cannoli and spumoni for a mere $15. And that's just a sample: There are dozens more restaurants to choose from.
Whether you're gathering a crowd or dining alone (see page TK), Orlando Restaurant Week is an excellent excuse to neglect your stove for a week.
