Tell your mom: Wahlburgers is coming to Orlando

Plus new owners take over the Yum Yum Cupcake empire

After less than four months, Elliot's Public House has closed. We liked the caliber of food coming from chef Karl Elliott's kitchen, but customers just weren't drawn to the space that housed Brian's Restaurant for many years.

Last month we told you about Coffee Culture Café opening in the new Nora Apartments in the North Quarter; now comes word that the folks running Citrus will open the North Quarter Tavern on the ground floor sometime next year.

In addition to some of the biggest chefs in the state, next weekend's Tribute to Charlie Trotter at Norman's will feature a special guest – Ms. Anne Trotter Hinkamp, Charlie's sister. Some of what guests paying the $200 ticket will sample: rabbit and black trumpet mushroom boudin, crispy veal sweetbreads, Australian Wagyu ribeye and oooh, a caviar station.

The Daily City Food Truck Bazaar Dec. 14 at Fashion Square Mall will feature 20 food trucks, including the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck, which was sold last month to new owners Rakesh and Paula Sharma. Not sure if the duo plans on donning bow ties, but they are planning a Yum Yum Cupcake kiosk at the Altamonte Mall.

Expansion plans for "Marky" Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg's burger franchise, Wahlburgers, include 20 joints in the Sunshine State. Franchisee Manny Garcia (remember him?) is set to open one in our burger-saturated neck of the woods, so c'mon! Feel it! Feel it!

Mynt, the sister Indian restaurant to Sand Lake's Saffron, entered soft open phase last Sunday in the Hannibal Square location that was formerly Fresh as well as the upstairs space that was the original Redlight Redlight. Habitués of either departed establishment will barely recognize the joint(s) under all the bright new paint.

All Italian Market & Deli celebrates their fourth anniversary with a special four-course dinner with wine pairings for $55 per person ... Look for the Broken Strings Brewery to open early next year at 532 Virginia Drive ... The grand opening of Oviedo's Rock & Brews goes Jan. 6 with co-owners Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley on hand.
