Shake Shack has opened in the Florida Mall, Peppino’s Wood Fired Pizza coming to Curry Ford, plus more in this week's local food roundup 

Husband-and-wife real estate team Giovanni Fernandez and Elise Sabatino have dubbed the Curry Ford Road/Bumby Avenue corridor the Hourglass District and have big plans for the area, starting with renovating the strip plaza at 2401 Curry Ford Road. The center will house an outpost of Foxtail Coffee Co. and a market with craft beer bar by August, and Tamale Co.'s first brick-and-mortar operation and a bakery by November. Claddagh Cottage will open next door to the strip plaza in July. Also, Peppino's Wood Fired Pizza will open across the street at 2420 Curry Ford Road ... Too Much Sauce, serving rice, quinoa and salad bowls, will open in the former Giraffas Brazilian Grill space in Mills Park later this summer ... Ongoing pop-up concept Truck Stop Pop-Up Kitchen will open in the old Graffiti Junktion space at 900 E. Washington St. in Thornton Park this July ... Shake Shack has opened in the Florida Mall ... Suncreek Brewery will open in Clermont later this fall.

Better burger joint Square 1 Burgers on South Orlando Avenue in Winter Park has shuttered.

Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar has a new "After Midnight" menu featuring $2 tacos, $5 specialty cocktails, and half-off shots of tequila. The menu is offered midnight to close seven days a week.

While you're at it, pick up tickets to BITE Night, taking place Monday, June 26, at the Orchid Ballroom. Tickets are $45 (or $65 VIP). The cost: $65 ($25 for kids).
