"Lately, I can not get over the album Cyanide Sisters (Bonus Track Version) by Com Truise. Originally released as a 7-song EP for free, it has been reissued and adopted by the Ghostly International label, home to many avant-pop electronic artists. The free version is still available at his website,, but with four additional tracks, the retail version is well worth it. Com Truise, aka Seth Haley, has recorded under many aliases, but this EP has brought him into a visionary light. Cyanide Sisters rides waves of juicy synth ambience and crunchy beats reminiscent of Boards of Canada or Black Moth Super Rainbow, while still developing its own signature take on the genre: funky ’80s sensibilities with an eye on the future. ‘Sundriped’ and ‘Basf Ace’ are prime examples of Haley’s virtuosity.”

(Telethon headlines a night of music at Stardust Video & Coffee at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 with White Fang, Alias Punch and Tam Tam the Sandwich Man. Their latest EP, Forever, is available for free download at
