Photos of the die-in at Orlando Publix against self-proclaimed "NRA sellout" Adam Putnam

About 15 protesters participated in a die-in in Friday front of the deli aisle at the Publix store on Shine Avenue and Colonial Drive in Orlando. The action comes after a week of outrage against the grocery chain for political donations to Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam, a self-proclaimed "NRA sellout."

Activists against gun violence, including survivors of the Parkland high school shooting, have called for a boycott of Publix after a report showed the company donated $670,000 to Putnam's campaigns. While the grocery chain argues it has not directly contributed to the gun lobby, activists say Putnam has consistently supported the NRA's agenda and loosening gun restrictions in Florida.

In the wake of protests across the state Friday, Publix announced it was suspending all political donations.
