Orange County Animal Services is dropping its adoption fees to only $10 for more than a hundred pets, for just one week.
The pet rescue and adoption center is experiencing a sharp increase in pet intakes and has nearly 450 animals currently under its care, OCAS says.
"The rate at which animals are arriving is outpacing the rate at which they’re leaving,” said Diane Summers, manager of OCAS. “We’re imploring our community to consider adopting or fostering and are asking them to try and keep animals at home rather than bringing them to the shelter during this time.”
To help move along some happy endings for these furry friends, all "ready to go pets" are up for adoption for $10 April 13 through April 20.
There are approximately 120 dogs and cats labeled "ready to go." That means they've been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received initial vaccines.
So check out some of the irresistible faces waiting to find a home (or foster home!) now.
Those interested in adopting can visit the shelter's website for a complete list of available pets or more information on the adoption process. Orange County Animal Services is also actively recruiting new members to its foster care program.
