Love to eat? Love to write?

Writing about restaurants is harder than it sounds. One, you hardly ever get to eat at home. Two, though you may find a favorite spot, you can never really enjoy it because you're constantly on the lookout for something new. Three -- oh, the burden! -- someone else is always picking up the bill.

Sound enticing? Good, because if your love of linguine (and other foods that start with L) matches your love of language, your table is waiting. Orlando Weekly needs a freelance restaurant reviewer who can storm the dining scene, display a culinary command, and report back with wit and wisdom rolled together tighter than a sushi roll.

Here's how to audition: Write 500 words describing a dinner at a favorite place, and send it to Editor, Orlando Weekly, 111 W. Jefferson St., Suite 200, Orlando FL 32801; or e-mail Deadline is Friday, July 14. Leading candidates can expect a follow-up interview. No phone calls, please.

We welcome readers to submit letters regarding articles and content in Orlando Weekly. Letters should be a minimum of 150 words, refer to content that has appeared on Orlando Weekly, and must include the writer's full name, address, and phone number for verification purposes. No attachments will be considered. Writers of letters selected for publication will be notified via email. Letters may be edited and shortened for space.
