When Nora’s Wine & Cigars closed in May, we told you Nora was actively looking for another space in the area. Well, she found one. The little white house at 636 Virginia Drive will soon become Nora’s Sugar Shack, a tobacco store, wine bar and beer garden.
Tony’s Deli on Mills has closed. We told you back in January 2013 that Tony’s Deli took over the former Café Rouge space on First Street in Sanford; looks like the family will focus its attention solely in Seminole County.
With Nordstrom closing its Florida Mall location, so goes its Café Bistro (one of the best places in town to have lunch) and eBar (one of our better espresso bars). The store closes Aug. 16.
Don’t expect PR’s Taco Palace to open anytime soon in College Park. It seems they’re having issues with the city, and the projected July opening has been pushed back.
The Summer Cutting Board Series returns to Christner’s Prime Steak & Lobster Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m. The five-course tasting menu with fine wines from Newton runs $115 per head.

Cress Restaurant’s second Lesser Seafood Dinner will have Sheila Bowman – manager of culinary and strategic initiatives at Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program – as a special guest. The dinner is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29. Earlier that day, Cress chef Hari Pulapaka gives a free seafood cooking demo at Whole Foods in Winter Park.
