Runway to Hope fuses food with fashion 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Mall at Millenia. The champagne brunch, fashion show and dessert party supports children and families affected by pediatric cancer; tickets are $125. Visit runwaytohope.org for more info.

Over in Winter Park, the Ravenous Pig hosts a four-course dinner Sept. 24 with wine pairings from Adelsheim Vineyards. Expect foie gras, rabbit, wild salmon, Meyer Ranch rib-eye, gourmet mushrooms and a pumpkin éclair, all paired with Oregon’s finest grapes. Tickets are $100.

Coinciding with the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf-Astoria presents special tasting menus, wine pairings and special food-related events throughout the resort from Sept. 27-Nov. 9.

College Park happenings: Alfonso’s Pizza opened its doors in the former Scruffy Murphy’s space on Edgewater Drive … Grounding Roots Juice Bar is slated to open Oct. 1 at 710 W. Princeton St., in the building behind Kingfish Bistro … The 12th annual Feed the Need event goes 6-10 p.m. Sept. 26, featuring plenty of food and wine from the Tap Room at Dubsdread as well as live music and auctions, to benefit the Christian Service Center. In celebration of its 108th anniversary, Columbia Restaurant rolls back its prices Sept. 22 to what they were in 1905 … A trio of gastronomes – chef Donna Scala (La Luce) along with sommeliers Emilia Nardi and Giovanna Moretti – host Il Cibo Della Vita (The Food of Life), featuring a reception and five-course dinner with wine pairings 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 for $95 per person … You’re probably wondering, How do I score a free donut on International Talk Like a Pirate Day? Well, just walk into a Krispy Kreme on Sept. 19, do your best pirate impersonation and yo-ho-ho, you’ll get a free donut. Wear a pirate costume and you’ll get a dozen on the house. Arrr!
